Ironically, animals came first and then dinosaurs. Google has revamped its popular augmented reality tool that allows us to see 3D objects in the "real world" thanks to our mobile camera, to go back millions of years and bring back i Dinosaurs.
In this way, now, it is not only possible see animals, astronomical elements and many other objects included in the Google search engine; It also offers the possibility of view the dinosaurs in full scale anywhere, using only the camera of our mobile phone compatible with Google's augmented reality.
This is what Google's 3D dinosaurs look like
3D Dinosaurs: so you can see them with your mobile and Google's augmented reality
As announced by the company on its blog, to bring dinosaurs to the real world through augmented reality, they have partnered with Universal Brand Develompent, Ludia and Amblin Entertainment. In this way they managed to bring to life ten of the dinosaurs from the Jurassic World movie saga. The creatures that will be possible to view in 3D are the following:
The steps to view one of these dinosaurs through Google's augmented reality are the same ones that had to be followed to see animals and other 3D elements:
- Open the Google search engine or any web browser of your choice and enter the name of one of the dinosaurs, or search for "dinosaurs".
- In the search result, tap the "View in 3D" button.
- Calibrate the camera by moving the device from side to side and pointing it at the ground.
- Now you can see the dinosaur, take photos and even record videos.
Google indicates that, thanks to modeling technology from Ludia - the company behind Jurassic World Alive - the dinosaurs available for 3D viewing are some of the most lifelike ever created in such an experience. Furthermore, as a novelty, in Android a technology of auto-scaling, which calculates the distance between our device and the surface on which the dinosaur will appear for automatically adjust its size. This way you can see the creatures in Royal flush. To make matters worse, emit also realistic sounds both of roars and footsteps.
“To create the dinosaurs in 3D, our concept artists first did preliminary research to discover information about each creature. Not only have we researched various forms of literature, our artists have also worked with paleontologists and the 'Jurassic World' team to make the resources as accurate and realistic as possible. Even the smallest details, such as skin color and irregular patterns, are important. "
Also, in the same way as the rest of the 3D objects, it will be possible rotate, move or change the size of the dinosaurs to better adapt to the space in which we find ourselves. Likewise, since Google's augmented reality is able to detect objects in the environment, we will be able to take pictures di ourselves under or next to the dinosaurs.
