Because an Android customization layer is bad or poorly crafted

The Android world is sometimes rather complex due to the freedom offered by the Google operating system manufacturers to make the changes they deem appropriate and to introduce some new features that Google may not yet have included in the operating system.

However, not all that glitters is gold, and there are some levels of customization that, far from improving the experience offered by pure Android, make it worse to some extent. And today we will tell you what it is that makes a level of personalization considered negative.

OxygenOS is one of the greatest virtues of OnePlus 8 Pro.

Lag, the worst enemy of your smartphone

The first thing we ask of any mid-range mobile phone right now is that it works well, since in mid-2020 it is illogical to spend more than 150-200 euros on a terminal and that it doesn't offer a decent minimum performance.

And, unfortunately, there are times when, at the hardware level, a terminal might work fine, but the software is so heavy that all it does is slow down the performance of the terminal. And this means that, as much as the layer contributes, we cannot consider it an added value to the device.

It is true that there are times when the opposite happens and a terminal that we do not expect much a priori, surprises us thanks to the software available to the device and it becomes one of its best spots. But, if when you use the terminal, you find the dreaded delay in mid-2020, you may have to flee.

Realme is another clear example that you don't have to spend $ 1.000 to get a high-end product

Excessive initial settings

One of the things that characterize Apple phones is that the initial setup is simple and in about 5 minutes you can start using your mobile. No complications or extra settings, and that's something that doesn't happen on all Android phones.

And, as you know by now, there are many manufacturers who sin to saturate the initial configurations of their terminals, making you log in to an account other than Google or that you need to configure which applications you want to receive notifications from and which not. Making the initial setup more cumbersome and complicated for the average user.

The MIUI 11 interface is getting closer and closer to Google

Personally, having a large number of configuration-level options seems like something positive to me, but it is true that on some occasions, if these are not intuitive, it can feel overwhelming. and even more so when we have to configure those aspects the first when we open the smartphone., when we are not yet familiar with the level of customization.

There are many occasions when less is more, and this is one of them, since minimalism is the simplicity when setting up a new smartphone are something that is highly appreciated, although then the manufacturer of the option to change many parameters of the interface.

With the Theme Creator app for MIUI, you can create custom themes for MIUI.

An interface that strays too far from Google

Google has been significantly improving Android's UI design for years, and that's something users really appreciate, since which has an interface that is pleasing to the eye and with which we can feel comfortable day by day., It is very important.

There are manufacturers, such as Xiaomi, who keep some distance from pure Android interface design, but even so, they are not far from it, and that's a good thing, since there are layers of some Chinese manufacturers who radically break with the design lines of the big G, and that's usually not a good thing. At least in the Western world.

Here's what the Pixel Launcher looks like on a Google Pixel 4 XL.

And it is that, in Asia, the preferences of most users may be different from what we have here, and this makes manufacturers adapt to what users want there. But when you import a cellphone, it may seem like a very elaborate or not very minimalist design. As is the case with the levels of personalization intended for older people, who do their job, but are not pleasant for us.

They are tastes, and nothing happens, but an interface too far from Google's can be unpleasant to western users, and it is completely normal that we do not consider a layer good if we do not like it aesthetically.
